7 Recipes You Can Make in Our Thermal Bag

We don't know about you, but we've been doing a ton of cooking during this quarantine situation. It's helped to keep our mind off things, keep us busy and obviously keep us well fed. Recently, we've been doing a lot of slow cooking, so that we can cook a lot of things at once. (While our meat slow cooks, for example, we can use our oven to bake another batch of chocolate chip cookies…because there can never be too many chocolate chip cookies).

If you have an Instant Pot or a Crock-Pot, then you're set. If you don't, or if you aren't in the market for another bulky kitchen gadget, might we suggest our very own 3-in-1 Thermal Bag, which you can actually use to slow cook food! (It can be squeezed into a nook in the closet, into a drawer or other small spaces because it's pretty collapsible).

It's called a 3-in-1 because it can also keep what's inside it hot or cold. But we primarily use it to slow cook! Here are five recipes we are making in our Thermal Bag (that you can also use your Instant Pot or Crock-Pot to make) while we do our part to help flatten the curve by staying home!

1. Boston Baked Beans

Boston Baked Beans

One of the things we love celebrating here at Hungry Fan is unique, local flavors. We love that as we crisscross America, from tailgate to tailgate, we find different foods, rooted in local culture and flavor. When you think of Boston favorites, "chowdah" and "lahbstahs" both come to mind. But so too do baked beans! Beantown is famous for 'em and they're an easy and flavorful recipe to slow cook!

2. Chicken À La Coke

Chicken À La Coke

This takes us back to being kids, sitting on our grandparents' patio, and chowing down on some Coke Chicken (as we called it) while we basked in the sunlight, having just watched The Sandlot for the thousandth time. It's comfort food at its best and it certainly helps that it's easy to make in large batches and most of its ingredients are in your pantry.

3. BBQ Pulled Pork

BBQ Pulled Pork

If you've ever tried to make pulled pork, you know it takes a while of your pork slow cooking before it's pullable. But just the right amount of time in the slow cooker and it's falling off the bone and basically pulling itself. Once it's ready, you can eat it as is, on bread as a sandwich, or even put the pork on a tortilla for a southern riff on tacos al pastor! It doesn't matter how you serve it, BBQ pulled pork is downright delicious!

4. Cowboy Corn Soup

Cowboy Corn Soup

As spring temperatures rise, consuming hot soup might not be at the top of your list of things to do. But, if you're anything like us, soup is an incredible comfort food and lord knows comfort food (and alcohol) has been single handedly getting us through this period of quarantine. And hot corn soup? One of our favs.

Just sub in some regular potatoes. The star of this dish is the carnitas anyway, which we find to always be the most delicious when they're slow cooked.
