Strawberry season is upon us! It’s the perfect time of year to throw on some old sneakers and head out to a berry farm to pick your own berries. Simply type “strawberry farms near me” into Google maps and get over there already. Set a timer, hand out the baskets, and GO GO GO.
The bounty you bring home may seem a tad overabundant, but after executing the recipes below—you’ll be feeling just fine. Important tip: It takes a week to make this recipe, assuming you make your own strawberry vodka. But we assure you: it’s worth the wait.
Ingredients
2 pounds fresh strawberry halves*
1 liter filtered water
1 liter vodka
2 Arctic Chill Ice Cube Trays
2 (32 ounces) Ball jars
*Also, we won’t judge you if you picked up fresh strawberries from your local farmer’s market or grocery store.
12 ounces strawberry-infused vodka
3 ounces white balsamic vinegar
4 ounces simple syrup
4 ounces water
A few strawberry ice cubes
The Strawberry Fields cocktail
Strawberry Field of Dreams Cocktail
Directions
Strawberry Ice Cubes
Hull and halve about 2 pounds or so of strawberries. Place one strawberry in each individual ice cube mold within the Arctic Chill Ice Cube Tray and then cover with water and freeze.
Strawberry Vodka
Evenly distribute the remaining cut strawberries into the 2 Ball jars, filling about 3/4 of the way to the top.
Fill the jars with vodka, leaving some room at the top.
Tightly seal each jar with its lid and let it refrigerate for one week.
Remove the strawberries from the vodka, making sure to discard the strawberries but not the vodka. (The strawberries should look pale and you can feel free to taste them.) Next, pour the vodka back into the jars.
Pour over ice, and enjoy!
Strawberry Field of Dreams Cocktail
Add all liquid ingredients into a pitcher and mix with a wooden spoon.
Add ice cubes to glasses.
Evenly pour the pitcher’s contents into each glass.
Pour and enjoy!
Recipe Note
PRO TIP:
The more, the merrier. Feel free to double the recipe for more fun in the sun. Or, try using the strawberry-infused vodka and strawberry ice cubes to spike up some lemonade oriced tea.
Just a heads up though: These can be silent but deadly. It’s hard to taste the alcohol and they can sneak up on your real quick.
