The Sidecar is one of the more popular cocktails out there. It has the sophistication of a F1 Supercar, yet it can be served in a Dixie cup with a bunch of crushed ice and lemon slices.
Our version is a bit less high-octane and more lemonade-y, kind of a cousin to the whiskey sour. Because after all, we want to enjoy the entire fangating experience. Serve up this refreshing sip by the bottle so you have enough for your friends, too.
Ingredients
8 ounces Bulleit Whiskey
4 ounces Cointreau Orange Liqueur
15 ounces homemade lemonade*
Lemon slices, for serving
Directions
Find an empty wine bottle, and get a funnel.
Pour all of the ingredients, except the lemon slices, into the bottle through the funnel.
Cap bottle and place in the fridge overnight.
Serve with fresh lemon slices.
Recipe Note
Pro Tip 1:
The best ratio for homemade lemonade is 8/2/8, or 8 lemons, 2 cups sugar, 8 cups water.
Pro Tip 2:
Bottled cocktails are great for tailgating. No mess, easy to transport, and they look great. The average wine bottle is 750 milliliters which roughly translates to 27 ounces of liquid inside. Hence our bottled cocktail recipes all add up to 27 ounces.
