Drinks
We originally came up with this recipe during the excitement of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games. It’s a perfect summer-y spin on Brazil’s most famous cocktail, the caipirinha.
For those of you unfamiliar with this drink, the caipirinha is the national cocktail of Brazil and typically features three ingredients: cachaça (the booze), lime, and brown sugar. We gave ours the added flavor punch of mango, a perfect reflection of Brazil’s lively, fun culture.
Ingredients
¼ cup cachaça
Half a lime, cut into wedges
2 teaspoons brown sugar
½ ounce puréed mango*
Ice, for serving
Directions
Combine the lime and sugar in the glass.
Using a muddler or wooden spoon, mash the lime and sugar together.
Add mango, ice, and cachaça. Stir together.
Garnish with a slice of lime and serve. You can also opt to add a mint garnish as well.
Recipe Note
Pro Tip:
If you’re a big fan of mango, you can up the amount to ½ of a mango per cocktail.
