Nothing that happens under the carnival tent should stay under the carnival tent. Those carnival food creations are just too damn good! In that spirit, this recipe marries two formerly unrelated favorites in a way only a carnie could dream up.
We’re talking the combination of glazed donuts and bacon cheeseburgers to form a glazed-donut-bacon-cheeseburger. It’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser, and show stopper. In fact, it may even be worthy of a big top of its very own.
Ingredients
6-ounce ground beef patty
2 strips bacon, cooked slightly crispy
2 slices American or cheddar cheese
1 glazed donut, sliced in half
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Directions
Grill the burger until just before desired doneness.
Season the patty as desired, top with the cooked bacon, and then add the cheese.
Leave on the grill until the cheese has melted.*
To serve, place the burger, bacon, and cheese in between the halved donut. Devour that carnie goodness!
Recipe Note
Pro Tip:
To help melt the cheese, you can always take a pot turned upside down (or a proper cheese melting dome, if you have one) and place it over the burger, bacon, and cheese pile. This will help keep in the hot air to melt the cheese faster. You can also just close the grill lid!
