Mango Caipirinha

With the excitement of the Summer Olympics in full effect and the peak heat of summer, I had to feature my recipe for Brazil's signature cocktail with my own tropical twist: a mango caipirinha.

For those of you unfamiliar with this drink, the caipirinha is the national cocktail of Brazil and it typically features three ingredients: cachaça (the booze), lime, and brown sugar. Add in the taste of summer (mango), and I'm one happy camper! I hope you enjoy!

  1. Combine the lime and sugar in the glass in which you plan to serve the beverage. Using a wooden spoon (or a muddling utensil if you own one), mash the lime and sugar together.
  2. Then add in your puréed mango and stir well.
  3. Add in some ice and the cachaça. Stir.
  4. Garnish with a lime slice and enjoy!
